As a new mom, taking time for “self-care” is a total luxury. Some days my hands are so full with Nate that I’m lucky if I’m able to brush my hair and wash up before noon. I recently had a conversation with my mom and grandma where they reminded me that despite my new responsibilities as a mother, it was still important for me to have some “me” time. They told me that having a baby didn’t mean I had to give up all of the things I typically did to feel my best self. That’s always easier said than done of course, but I agreed they had a point. While I won’t be hitting the salon monthly or rocking extensions again anytime soon, I still plan to get my hair colored and haven’t been making time at home to care for my locks.<\/p>\n\"Pantene\n

When it comes to my hair “self-care,” I’ve stopped using hot tools on a daily basis and instead opted for heat-less styles like braids and buns.
