While I haven’t indulged in my go-to apple cider margaritas just yet (only a few more weeks until baby #2 arrives!), I have been experimenting with some fun non-alcoholic recipes. I recently threw together the tastiest spiced apple cider punch using items from a recent Walmart grocery delivery (biggest mom lifesaver.) You likely have a lot of the ingredients already in your fridge and the recipe is incredibly simple. Bonus– you can easily make it adult-friendly by adding the spirit of your choice AND it can be made in bulk.
Rim glass with cinnamon sugar
Add spiced apple cider, orange juice and lemon juice to glass
Fill remainder of glass with ice and top with ginger ale
Optional: garnish apple and orange slices + a cinnamon stick

If you haven’t tried getting your groceries delivered from Walmart yet, you’re missing out big time. During weeks when I don’t have time to shop in person, I can place an order for all of our everyday grocery essentials within minutes and usually there are same-day delivery time slots available. The easiest way to know if a product is eligible for delivery or pickup is by clicking on “How Do You Want Your Items” in the top left corner of Walmart.com and selecting your preferred method. Just for fun I rounded up a few seasonal decorative and entertaining finds that are available for delivery/pickup now at Walmart.com and Walmart stores.
PS new Walmart customers can use promo code TRIPLE10 to save $10 off their first three grocery pickup or delivery orders. $50 min. Restrictions & fees apply.

I decided to tack on a few entertaining finds to my husband’s recent HomeDepot.com order and omg, I was so impressed with the selection! I had mentioned in our bathroom reno reveal how The Home Depot is really a one stop shop for all home needs and once again it rang true.

I couldn’t resist these appetizer plates with nifty wine holder grooves… Talk about genius! This bamboo platter is also the perfect size for any party or family gathering. I love that it has a slide out utensil tray and grooves for holding crackers.

It’s true. I do drink cocktails other than margaritas!
I decided it was time to step out of my tequila and mezcal comfort zone and create something new with flavors and ingredients I don’t typically use. I’m really happy with what I came up with: a sparkling grapefruit cocktail garnished with rosemary and a sugar rim. It’s SO tasty and a total crowdpleaser. It’s not too sweet so gals AND guys will enjoy it, plus it was incredible easy to make thanks to my new SodaStream Fizzi sparkling water maker. The homemade lemon-infused water adds such a refreshing touch!
PRODUCTS MENTIONED // SodaStream Fizzi Sparkling Water Maker | SodaStream Fruit Drops | Tumbler Glasses | White Tray
Let’s first talk about my SodaStream. I’ve contemplated getting one for years since sparkling water is pretty much all I drink (no soda or juice for this chick anymore.) Nick has always said to me, “I don’t understand why you buy canned water when you can save so much money making it yourself?” I’ll admit the man had a good point, but the idea of giving up precious counter space for another appliance is what kept me from pulling the trigger… Until now.
I was shocked when I unboxed my SodaStream Fizzi to see how little it was. It’s less than half the size of my coffee machine and it doesn’t even need to be plugged it in. SodaStreams are powered by CO2 and each machine comes with a cylinder that screws into the back– no electricity needed! Knowing I could easily move it around my kitchen or store it away in a cabinet is what ultimately convinced me I needed a SodaStream for myself. It also weighs only 6 pounds!

OUTFIT DETAILS // Anthropologie Sweater | Statement Earrings | Black Leggings | Michele Watch
If you have a sparkling water lover in your life, I highly recommend it as a holiday gift. There are three different SodaStream models ranging in price from $87 for the Classic Fizzi up to $159 for the Aqua Fizz Premium. I have the SodaStream Fizzi, which comes with all the essentials: a CO2 cylinder and a plastic carbonating bottle with lid. It’s the perfect model for getting started with SodaStream because it’s not too pricey and won’t overwhelm your kitchen counter. I actually found it on sale here for just $59.99!

If you want to add flavor to your homemade sparkling water, you can purchase SodaStream fruit drops. I got this variety pack which includes a lemon, lime, raspberry, orange and mango concentrate. All you have to do is drop a 1/2 teaspoon to the carbonating bottle prior to adding CO2. The drops are made with all-natural flavors and contain zero calories!

Now about that cocktail… Here’s how to shake one up at home! I made this recipe for one drink, however I do think it could be made in bulk as a punch. I would suggest just waiting to add the sparkling water until you are ready to individually serve!

RIM GLASSES. Wet glass rims and dip in granulated sugar. I typically just wet glasses with water, but depending on the type you're using a simple syrup or agave sweetener could also work as a sticky rim adhesive.
MAKE LEMON-INFUSED SPARKLING WATER. Fill SodaStream bottle with water & add 1/2 tsp SodaStream Lemon Fruit Drops. Insert bottle into Sodastream Fizzi Sparkling Water Maker & press down for 2 seconds. Repeat 3x to add carbonation to water.
MAKE COCKTAIL. Fill rimmed glasses with ice (I suggest 3-4 small cubes). Add gin, lime juice, red grapefruit juice, agave sweetener & more ice to shaker. Shake vigorously to mix and strain into rimmed glasses. Top glass with SodaStream lemon-infused sparkling water.
GARNISH. Feel free to garnish glasses with a red grapefruit wedge and a sprig of rosemary.

I’m usually hit or miss when it comes to crafting. Whatever I’m making could either go really right, or really REALLY wrong. Thankfully I avoided the latter when I decided to create my own DIY holiday greenery table runner using inexpensive decorations ordered from Amazon.
DINING ROOM DETAILS // Dining Room Table | Wood Bench | Sheepskin Pelt (used as seating cushion) | Wishbone Chairs | Honeycomb Shelves
Since this is our first year in our new apartment (where we can actually fit a dining room table!) I knew I wanted to do some kind of special centerpiece. Nothing over-the-top that would take over the entire table, but something pretty and festive that wouldn’t cost a fortune or take a ton of time to create.
Using a faux eucalyptus garland as a base, I intertwined Christmas tree accents, pillar candles in clear hurricane glasses, ribbon and other small holiday decorations with a string of battery-operated fairy lights to create a winter wonderland-esque centerpiece.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
+ Eucalyptus Garland
+ Mini Flocked Christmas Trees
+ Frosted Pine & Berry Branches
+ Silver Poinsettia Decorations
+ Metallic Copper Ribbon
+ Battery-Operated Fairy Lights
+ White Pillar Candles
+ Glass Cylinder Candle Holders

You can either have the garland span vertically across your entire table or loop it in half concentrating it in the middle. Either option will undoubtedly look festive!

This runner can also be customized with whatever style ribbon or decorations you prefer– Amazon has literally every kind of crafty supply under the sun. I’m honestly shocked at how cute it turned out– way better than I expected!

Tis the season for all the festive cocktails and you guys are going to LOVE this Cranberry Orange Holiday Margarita recipe. Just like my Apple Cider Margaritas these are incredibly easy to make, are boy-friendly, can be mixed up in bulk and of course come with a very photogenic garnish and tasty rim!
Don’t let the pink color fool you into thinking these are super sugary. There definitely is some sweetness from the fruit juices, but it’s nothing too overpowering. The key is to use 100% cranberry juice (not cranberry juice cocktail) and an agave sweetener (this counters the bitterness from lime and cranberry juices.)

Another thing that I love about this recipe is you can easily customize it! Not big on orange juice? Skip it. Want more berry flavor? Add some pomegranate juice. If you don’t have an agave sweetener you could swap in honey, simple syrup or some sugar as a substitute.

PREP YOUR GARNISHES. Rinse your cranberries, limes and fresh rosemary. If you want to get fancy, pour a spoonful of sugar on a plate and then lightly “dust” your damp cranberries and rosemary with the sugar for a crystallized look. I used a toothpick and added a few cranberries & candied ginger for a little extra color.
RIM YOUR GLASSES. Don’t skip this step! The rim of a margarita is so important and the sweet and saltiness of this one makes the drink. Just combine equal parts kosher salt and granulated sugar on a plate, then dip the edges of your glass into the mixture. Don’t forget to first dampen the rims with either lime wedge or under running water! I find that old fashioned-style or stemless wine glasses work best with this drink as deeper-welled cups keep the garnishes together and upright, versus a traditional shallow margarita glass.
MAKE THE MARGS. Place a few ice cubes in a cocktail shaker and add your tequila, agave syrup, cranberry, lime and orange juices.. Shake for a few seconds until the ingredients are combined and then pour into your rimmed glasses. If preferred, add a few ice cubes to each drink.
ADD GARNISHES. Tis the season to be #extra and nothing impresses guests more than a pretty garnish. I’d suggest adding a sugar-coated sprig of rosemary and taking a toothpick with a few cranberries and candied ginger pieces. If you want to bring out the orange or lime flavors more, then you could add a fresh orange or lime slice too!

Happy December 1st everyone! One of my favorite things about the holiday season is the decorations and as of this week our apartment is full of festive cheer. Ahh it makes me SO happy!
6.5 Foot Pre-Lit Flocked Tree & UGG Polar Tree Skirt c/o Bed Bath & Beyond
We didn’t get a tree last year because we were in Europe at the beginning of December, so I could not be more excited to have one in our apartment this season. How gorgeous is this pre-lit flocked tree from Bed Bath & Beyond? This is actually the first time we’ve ever had a flocked tree and I’m obsessed. The branches are basically coated in sparkly white fluff and it just looks so pretty with all the grey and beige hues in our living room. I added this faux fur tree skirt to keep with the cozy theme!

Nick and I always buy an ornament or two on every trip and obviously had to get this one when we were in London. Also can you believe this photo of us from eight years ago? We used to make a holiday picture frame ornament every year, but it’s probably been four years or so since the last one. Jeez we look so young here!

More cozy things from Bed Bath & Beyond… I had no idea that UGG made home decor and Bed Bath & Beyond has an amazing selection of throw pillows and faux fur blankets.

Media Console | Orchid & Pine Garland | Birch Candle c/o Bed Bath & Beyond | Wood Frame | Terrarium | Wood Candle Centerpiece
Since we live in a small apartment, there isn’t a lot of extra space to decorate (what I would give for a fireplace…) so I love slim decor that can fit on a windowsill like this piece here and this garland I draped across our media console.

Growing up my family always decorated our fireplace with nutcrackers and Santa figurines. The brown fellow on the right we actually found on our last trip to France at a Christmas shop in a small village on the Alsace wine route. So happy we had enough room in our suitcases to bring him home with us!
Have you finished decorating your homes yet? Do you get a real tree or an artificial one? If you have questions about any of the furniture or other decor in our living room check out the widget below for links or my living room tour here. Happy happy December, everyone!

And voilà! Cozy holiday bedroom completed. As you can see I didn’t do anything too drastic or over the top. I mean it’s tough to go all out when you live in a small space, but I’m loving the comfy festive vibes. It’s amazing what a few lights and some extra throw pillows and blankets can do!

How is Thanksgiving just a few days away? This time of year always flies by way too fast. It makes me wish the holidays were more spaced out!
For the first time since we’ve lived in New York, Nick and I aren’t traveling to visit family for Thanksgiving. Since he has to work the following day, we’re staying in the city and my mom, stepdad and sister are coming to visit. While I’d love to host them for a big turkey dinner at our apartment, it honestly just wouldn’t be possible in our space. Our place is plenty comfortable for us two, but cooking a meal with multiple courses? I don’t even know how I’d manage it on our small kitchen. So yes, we’re going out to a restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner, but that doesn’t mean I’m completely nixing taking on the role of hostess at home.

Gold Thankful Decal Stemless Wine Glasses | Maple Leaves Coasters | Gilded Magnolia Placemat
Before my fam arrives next week, I’m actually planning on hosting a few girlfriend’s over for some much-needed wine time and small bites. If you’re like me and don’t have the dining space or a large kitchen that can accommodate a dinner party, opting to have friends or family over for appetizers and drinks is the perfect compromise. I always like to create a buffet-style spread where my guests can serve themselves. The last place you want to be at your own gathering is stuck in the kitchen so setting everything out takes the work off your hands and you can spend as much time as possible with your guests.

So when I’m entertaining I love to go all out. Not only with food and drinks, but with décor too! Don’t you agree that everything come together when your table looks festive and celebratory? I love to impress guests and extra touches like themed serving dishes, drinking glasses, plates, candles and decorative accents can make a party extra memorable.

Let me tell you if you haven’t visited your local Pier 1 Imports or recently: YOU’RE MISSING OUT. I ordered everything you see here online (you get free shipping with any $49+ purchase!) and was so impressed with the selection of affordable harvest-themed home décor and tablespace pieces. I’m talking all the pumpkins, colorful leaves, weathered woods, string lights and fall-scented candles.

Wood Pumpkin Serving Board | Copper Pumpkin Spreaders
Here you can see a peek at my décor and me in all my hostess glory. I’m definitely going to use this girls’ night as practice before hosting my family next week. Whether you’re having Thanksgiving dinner or planning to invite friends over for casual drinks and bites, Pier 1 has a lot of great harvest-themed inspo and entertaining necessities at super wallet-friendly prices.

Hint Hint! A lot of what you see here is actually on sale, so definitely try and pop in to your local store or place an order before Christmas items completely take over. PS have you seen the Pier 1 Holiday section? I’m already envisioning my next shopping trip
